Timing Isn’t Everything pg. 33-40

“Not everything that a man knoweth can be disclosed, nor can everything that he can disclose be regarded as timely, nor can every timely utterance be considered as suited to the capacity of those who hear it.’ Such is the consummate wisdom to be observed in thy pursuits. Be not oblivious thereof, if thou wishest to be a man of action under all conditions. First diagnose the disease and identify the malady, then prescribe the remedy, for such is the perfect method of the skillful physician.”

-Abdu’l-Baha

The first section of this quote is incredible and so true. We wonder why something can be so obvious to us and yet the recipient is clueless. Sometimes it is not the right time for that person to hear it. Or, maybe it is the perfect time, but their capacity can’t sustain it. This is why we should read texts multiple times for the possibility of getting an uncharted understanding time and time again. This also shows how important compassion and understanding for other people is so important in our daily lives!
